All About Halloween!

I have never been big into decorating for Halloween or carving pumpkins, I mainly just do Fall decorations. As far as costumes go, I partake in the contest we have at work, but that’s about it. Now that I have a little one, who is 8 1/2 months old, it is a whole different ballgame. I never knew how difficult it would be to pick out a costume for my baby. Literally one of the hardest things I have done in a while lol!! There are so many cute ones these days, but I finally chose one, a colorful little owl.

We, of course, had to carve a pumpkin for him as well, which he was a little unsure about when it was all lit up. I impressed myself with how well we actually did. Thanks Pinterest for the idea! LOL!

After we carved the pumpkin, we saved the seeds to experiment with. I had never tried a pumpkin seed before and had definitely never baked any. We took the seeds and rinsed them with warm water to get any excess pumpkin filling off. We then put them in a bowl with some olive oil so there would be something for the seasonings to stick to. We then split them into 2 separate bowls since we wanted to try 2 different flavors. My husband did salt and pepper and I did brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. We put them on 2 baking sheets and baked them in the oven at 300 degrees for 20 minutes. They came out really good!! I would recommend you try them.

If you take part in Halloween, I hope you have a fun time and stay safe! It is supposed to rain here so we may just be stuck inside, but at least my little guy will look cute. Have a bad Ash day!!
