Makeup Review and MOTD!

I purchased this awesome looking Smashbox set recently and have been dying to try it out. The colors in this palette just looked beautiful and I was eager to receive it and try it, plus it came with everything else to do a complete eye look.

When I first opened it all up, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful packaging of the palette.

Then I opened it up and saw the actual colors and was so excited. They were even prettier in person than in the pictures. I just wish there was a good shimmery highlight in this palette, but I can get over that cause these other colors are just gorgeous. The set also came with the lid primer, mascara, and eye liner.

For my MOTD, I used the top right color in the crease, the top left color all over my lid to set the primer, the shimmery orange color right in the middle of my lid, then the matte dark brown shade in the outer V of my eye. I then used that same dark brown right up against the lower lash line and blended it out with the top right color. I also added just a tad of that orange color in the center of the lower lash line. Then I used the liner to line the upper and lower rims and also on the actual lid to do a winged line. I finished it off with the mascara, which I ended up not liking at all, so I used an It Cosmetics mascara on top. Also, I used that top right color to carve out my cheekbones, and it was the perfect shade!

The lip color is Maybelline Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudes in Honey Pink, eyebrows are done using Fiona Stiles eyebrow pencil in Taupe, bronzer is Essence Matt Bronzing Powder in Natural, blush and highlight are part of Fiona Stiles’ face palette, and the foundation is another new item, Revlon Youth FX Fill & Blur Foundation in Sand Beige.

Overall, I loved everything about this look and the products, except for the mascara. I don’t recommend it to anyone, sorry. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a bad Ash day!!
