The Upcoming Months

Hello lovelies! No product review, haul, or makeup look of the day today. Just wanted to share some things that I am really looking forward to in the coming months. I always love having something to look forward to because, honestly, I hate that feeling of just living to work. Don’t get me wrong, I am very grateful I have a job, but that’s not what life is about.

Me and the hubby are getting ready to take a road trip this coming Saturday to Georgia. In the almost 8 years we have been together, we have been on a couple of plane rides, short road trips, but never this long of one. I have never been there before, his dad was from there and dad’s family still lives there, and it will be a very much needed getaway! Also, when we return from our trip, there will be an air show just right up the road from our house, so I am really hoping we get to see it this year because we missed it last year.

May has to be my favorite month of them all just because it is my birthday month!! May 1st to be exact 🙂 May also has a very sad meaning to it now as well, though. This will mark 1 year of my father-in-law being gone. Things have gotten a little easier, but we find ourselves thinking and talking about him a lot, which is not necessarily a bad thing. As a late birthday gift, my husband is taking me to Houston at the end of May to watch the Astros play the Texas Rangers. I am hoping we get to go visit my best friend, who moved back there over a year ago, while we are there. She just had her 3rd little boy and I am DYING to meet him. We will have Mother’s Day between now and then and hopefully a trip to the coast to visit some of our other friends. BUSY BUSY! That’s how we like it, though. If the weather starts cooperating, we should be able to start going offshore fishing soon, which is very exciting.

In July, me and my mom will be going to see Chris Young in concert again in San Antonio. We both just LOVE him and we had the opportunity to see him last year. I even secretly got her a meet and greet pass, which was not given to her until she arrived at the venue, so she was very shocked and beyond thrilled! Hopefully we will both be able to get one this time but if not, hopefully one of us will. Then, of course, there will be the 4th of July and there will be beautiful fireworks to be seen.

Do y’all have anything exciting going on in the upcoming months that you are looking forward to? I would love to hear about it.

I hope you enjoyed this different type of post and that you all have a bad Ash day!! 🙂

  1. I hope the road trip is going to be fun. Drive safe! I love doing road trips with my husband. I drive, he gets to look cool in the passenger seat. 😀

I hope you’ll be meeting your friends new kid and I hope you and your mum enjoy the concert.

I haven’t planned much for this summer. I know I want to take two weeks off so that my husband and I can do nothing at all.

I’d also like to look for a new job. I hate my current job and I really, really want to do something else.

Oh, it looks like I’m actually in the process of planning stuff…

    1. At least you have some ideas, that’s a start! What type of job do you have now and what would you rather be doing? Thank you so much for reading my post and for the kind words! 2 weeks of doing nothing together may be all you need 🙂

      1. I’ve been working in financial services for almost 15 years. I’ve always been happy with the pay and the benefits, so I’d like to stay in the same sector. But the job I’m currently doing is not as demanding as I had hoped when I started two years ago. On paper it’s a great job at a prestigious company, but in reality it’s a really boring job . I’m not sure where I want to go. All I would ask for is an employer that values hard work and makes use of my experience and knowledge. Maybe I’ll use the weekend to see what’s out there.
