Ulta Haul/Review

I ordered a few things from Ulta a while back that I have been trying out for a few weeks now. I had been waiting for my local Ulta and CVS to get the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation and Loreal Colour Riche Shadows, but I eventually got impatient and decided to place an order online. I bought 2 different shades in the foundation, 6 different color eye shadows and I also found a NYX palette that looked like I might enjoy.

I bought 2 different shades just so I could use the lighter shade under my eyes and on my chin for a subtle “glow” instead of using a concealer all of the time. I figured they would blend well together and not be too thick like some concealers can be. The bottle claims it is “Fresh, new and flawless… Dream Velvet whips a fresh gel into a velvet-soft texture. Complexion is perfected and smooth with a soft-matte finish, just like velvet. Skin feels fresh with lasting hydration.” My initial thought when applying this was that it felt good on the skin but it had a light to medium coverage. This would definitely be great for someone who did not have much redness or breakouts, unlike me. I still had to use concealer to cover up my acne spots and most of my redness is on my cheeks so it just blended in with my blush. It DID actually stay pretty matte all day and I think this is something I will definitely wear in the future when my face is a little more calm or in the summer when I don’t want such a thick foundation.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Everything about these are great! They are so creamy, very pigmented, blend well and there was no fall out. Best thing for me is that they did not crease and they stayed on my lids all day (I tend to have oily eyelids).

NYX The Go-To Palette
Wanderlust

This is a very affordable palette that would be great for travelling as it has 6 different eye shadows, a contour shade, blush and highlight. The shadows and contour shade were all pretty pigmented and blended in well. The blush and highlight went on subtly but I liked them because they weren’t like “BAM!” in your face. The biggest complaint I have is that they all were very powdery and the eye shadows had quite a bit of fall out. I will still definitely use this palette though.

I hope you all have a bad Ash day!! 🙂
